BECOMING A PATIENT
Making an appointmentIn many cases your primary physician may refer you to Atlanta Vein Specialists. In this case, we will have the information we need to set up an initial consult at your earliest convenience.
For your first appointment
You should plan on 60-90 minutes for your first appointment. At this time, we will take your medical history, perform an ultrasound, complete the diagnosis and discuss a treatment plan thoroughly with you.
Your rights and responsibilities
As a patient you have the right to:
• Be treated with respect and dignity and to be provided with courteous, considerate care.
• Be informed about the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the health issues in terms you can understand.
• Be allowed ample time to ask questions and discuss the treatment method during your initial visit as well as any time throughout the process.
• Know the possible risk and side effects, as well as possible alternatives to the method of treatment; be able to seek a second opinion or decide not to be treated, but to be informed of the medical consequences of refusal.
• Have access to educational information regarding self-care and wellness.
• Receive confidential treatment of disclosures and medical records and, except when required by law, to be afforded the opportunity to approve or disapprove of their release.
As a patient you have the responsibility to:
• Inform us of any changes in your health status that could affect treatment.
• Adhere to a prescribed treatment plan and to discuss any desired change. Weigh the consequences of refusing to comply with instructions and recommendations.
• Ask questions and seek clarification regarding areas of concern.
• Cancel appointments only when necessary and far enough in advance so that other patients might utilize the time.
TESTIMONIALS
My visit to Atlanta Vein Clinic was a very rewarding experience. The service was friendly, prompt and very efficient. After many years of ankle pain, it was gone after the first procedure! Thanks to all of you.Nancy Hollaran
Throughout my treatments, the staff was very helpful. They took the time to explain what was going to happen and I saw good results shortly after each session. My legs look and feel much better now. Walking longer distances is now not an issue. My daughter said I have "swimmer's legs" now.

My apologies for taking so long to write this letter of appreciation, but I truly would like you to know that your expertise, knowledge and proficiency in your chosen field have served you well in my eyes. I had put the procedure off for too long.....I truly dreaded it, knowing it would be very stressful for me. I feel you brought an unique sensivity and quality of aproach to the task. Dr. M., I really enjoyed seeing your beautiful clinic, so much atmosphere! And, your staff, impeccable.....they went out of their way to be kind and thoughtful. I am deeply indebted to the professional approach you offered. Thank you so very much.
